In astrology, we each have a moon and that moon falls into one of the 12 signs. The moon is the planet that moves the fastest, meaning that the moon sign we have is not generational, and it’s not something everyone has. Your moon is special to you.
The moon represents how we feel internally - emotionally.
It’s a side of us not everyone sees. Those closest to us are the only ones who have truly caught a glimpse, and because our moons are so sacred to us, we must learn how to make them, “happy.”
A happy moon means a happy you, to some extent.
When recalibrating the nervous system, recovering from fatigue, or fulfilling a desire to revitalize our lives, we must look to the moon. Each moon has a different expression, need, and language. By mastering that language, we know how to give our moons what they need.
Aries Moon
An Aries moon has a desire for adventure and boldness. When an Aries moon stops fighting for life, gets overwhelmed by the sameness of a routined day, they can become frustrated. Aries NEED an outlet to explore, grow, change, challenge, and experience. They need to feel like they are in charge of their lives, charging ahead on their noble steed into this beautiful, gigantic life. Think of this as the Leader’s Journey of moons.
Taurus Moon
Taurus moons rejuvenate through the senses and through nature. Taurus is our animal instinct. It’s our desire for the simplicity, quiet, and groundedness. To rejuvenate a Taurus soul, the best thing to do is to get away into the mountains, trees, plains, etc. Listen to the birds, the chirping of late night crickets, and the rustling of leaves in the wind. Work with the hands to build, either through carpentry or pottery. Go get a massage or light a candle. Eat delicious, homemade food. Remember, Taurus is earthy and sensual.
Gemini Moon
A Gemini moon is a curious creature, drawn to information like a moth is drawn to a flame. They need to be around people, to some extent, or at the very least, characters in their books. They need to be able to speak or write or journal about what’s happening in their internal realms. A Gemini moon might love a walk with a friend, talking about subjects they find interesting. They may love a coffee shop, a book shop, or they may desire to take a short workshop by someone in their local community.
Cancer Moon
A Cancer moon has similarities to that of a Taurus moon. While more emotional than sensual, there is an intense need for security and safety. This can mean different things to different people. For some, it’s remodeling their home, cleaning their apartments, buying fresh linens for their beds. For others, it’s spending time in community with their closest people, talking about matters of the heart around a well-curated selection of comfort food in candlelight. Think cozy, home, and their people.
Leo Moon
When a Leo moon is looking to revitalize that spark, we look to their inherent desire for self-expression. For a Leo moon, there is a strong desire to create, and to be recognized for this talent. It’s important for these people to have others who appreciate their uniqueness, their creations, and their hearts. Remember, every time a Leo expresses, it is an act of expressing one’s truth, and that is a vulnerable thing to do. I like to think about Leo / Leo moon children as an example. If a Leo child is born into a family that fails to pay attention to them or doesn’t applaud them for their creativity, then the child can shrink back from sharing as often. This need to be seen is so good for their spirit, and is a great reminder of what we all need. Leos can recalibrate by expressing, painting, writing, public speaking, podcasting, performance, or sports. They may also enjoy trips to see other creatives in their crafts.
Virgo Moon
Virgo moon people are earthy, but they’re also orderly. To calibrate a Virgo moon, one must work with the hands, go outside, and pay attention to the small details of things. They may want to clean their space, clean up their look, and they may want to purify. This means getting rid of clothing that they don’t resonate with, cleaning out old dishes and furniture. They may want to also journal, write, practice caligraphy, practice pottery, take on numbers, or they may want to draw. For Virgos, they’re way of decompressing is through detail or repetition. I am a Virgo moon and ever since I was little, I would write in cursive over and over again: the months, the days, the names in my contact list. I would also drawn mandalas without knowing what they were then. The repetition was soothing. Virgos can also find day-to-day work relatively soothing, or self-development.
Libra Moon
A Libra moon is a social and aesthetic creature. Harmony is a way to calibrate a Libra soul. I think of curating a space, rearranging the balance of a home, color-coordinating closets and dishware. I think of going out to dinner with friends and finding a reason to get dressed up. Also as an air sign, Libras have a strong desire to communicate, learn, express, etc. They are inherently artistic souls, with an ability to sing, paint, and write. A Libra moon also tunes their spirit through beauty: textures, colors, candles, love, flowers, etc.
Scorpio Moon
A Scorpio moon can really recharge through alone time. I know a few Scorpio moons who rarely venture out into the world, and who prefer to shower in the dark with their music on. Scorpio moons can be very internal, meaning that they have a very rich inner landscape. They are highly penetrating, looking for deeper meaning in everything. They can dive deep into people, topics, conversations, and projects. For a Scorpio moon to really feel alive, they may want to dive into the occult, the taboo, and in general, into deeper waters. They’re the investigators of the zodiac.
Sagittarius Moon
A Sagittarius moon is one of endless expansion and learning. They’re deepest desire is growth through the art of doing. When a Sagittarius moon is feeling low on energy, one of the surest pathways back to relighting that beautiful fire is through doing something they’ve never done before, getting out of their comfort zones, hitting the road, or enrolling in a new course that calls to them - even if it has nothing to do with what they currently know. Philosophical books on expanding the mind, optimistic perspectives, and in general, optimistic people is so important. Get out of the details into a wider lens. Watching beautiful films and cinema is also a great way for a Sagittarius moon to relish in life. Traveling to other countries is also common here.
Capricorn Moon
A Capricorn moon, like Scorpio, can also thrive on alone time. They may want to take a secluding trip into nature. Capricorn moons, by nature, tend to be builders and while other people prefer to rest, Capricorns are always brainstorming. They’re also a highly sensual sign. This means that they recharge through massage, luxury (in the sense of good quality) surroundings and products. In some ways, their work is soothing to them when they can work through things without interruptions, or on projects they’re really enjoying.
Aquarius Moon
Aquarius moons thrive off of community and being non-conformists. It’s not uncommon for those born with Aquarian placements to be born into families where they’re a little different than everyone else. This means that from a young age, they practice the art of excepting those differences and actually learning how to make them their superpowers. This can make them really interested in supporting other people’s uniquenesses as well. They love to support their communities, causes they care about, and they love to go against the grain of what everyone else seems to be doing. For an Aquarius moon looking to rejuvenate their internal worlds, it’s all about embracing their differences, diving into strange and quirky topics, looking for random hole in the wall places, thrifting, trying new events they’ve never been to, thinking of ideas that make their local communities and all of humanity better.
Pisces Moon
Pisces moons rejuvenate best by diving into the their emotions and divine realms. For some, this can be art, music, poetry, photography, etc. The idea here is that Pisces moons find ways to express their internal realms through some form of abstract expression. Pisces moons have a language that is not always the most straight forward, but rather is more figurative. This allows them to create in a way that gets “between the lines.” Pisces moons may also prefer to spend time near the ocean, in spiritual communities, or in meditation.
